Doing our mom and baby yoga routine got a whole lot more fun last week when Masha starting laughing - loudly - during a lot of the exercises. She has discovered her feet and loves playing with them and staring at them especially at changing time. She can't quite manage sitting up by herself yet, but seems to like sitting up in the Bumbo chair that we got her a couple weeks ago. It's pretty adorable if I do say so myself!

My Two (Bottom) Front Teeth |
(click on title to read entire post and comments) |
About 10 days ago, Masha got her first tooth...and then her second. This was preceded by a few days of waking up in the middle of (her) night to an ear-piercing scream that we have never heard anything like before or since. We remedied this with scheduled Tylenol, and as soon as the little buds popped through, she started sleeping through the night again. Perhaps the biggest news since her birth...she is now more or less on a sleep schedule! I checked out all the baby sleep books I could find at the Coralville Public Library and also got a copy of Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child on Freecycle, in hopes of finding the secret of getting her to go to bed before 1 am and still sleep her usual 8-9 hours. But before I could crack any of them open after graduation, this week she suddenly started going to sleep at 10 pm. Awesomeness! I should probably keep reading anyway...something tells me that expecting to operate on pure luck with this might not be very smart.

Congratulations on being graduated!! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by--and Masha looks like a real sweetheart. Hearing about her sleeping gives me real hope (although we've still got a LONG way to go....) :)
Congrats on making it through the first teeth. I wish I could say it gets better, but for Spencer the first ones were the easiest. Also, I hope your luck sticks with you for sleeping through the night. I'm hoping to get Jacob to sleep through the night soon - it took over a year for Spencer. :(
